Fox Entertainment President: Kevin Reilly Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Kevin Reilly, a forty-six years, was one of his first experiences of the executive department of the television drama, NBC, was, like many others have experienced their share of drama. What he described as "three hard years of my career" were on NBC, where he served as president of entertainment from 2003 to 2007. Reilly was again joined NBC, after initially worked his way up the executive ladder there from 1988 to 1994. He came a second time, as NBC, which was a record ratings and profits start in the mid-90s to 2001, the beginning of a downward spiral caused by prolonged drought development. In just over a month, Reilly became president entertainment top-rated Fox network. Fox Entertainment chairman Peter Liguori, the former chief of Reilly on FX Network (Fox-owned cable network), went to Riley about the prospect of a chance to "do more" on its experience to NBC. Riley worked with Liguori at FX (2000 and 2003), was chairman of Liguori and Reilly entertainment president. This time, Liguori hired Reilly to oversee all programming responsibilities for the company Fox Broadcasting. Reilly began to Fox in July 2007, but nearly four months later, he was faced with the writers strike, which hobbled the entertainment industry for most of the year, ending just as the emerging signs of a severe economic downturn have begun to take shape. Despite these problems, Riley pushed forward, to do what he has done throughout his career, which was to challenge the system, the question of the convention, as well as find and develop hit shows that appeal to a wide audience and critics.
