Leaders more than 4,700 executives, managers, results from this year's survey -conducted during July and June of 2011 - suggest a growing interest in sustainability on the section of companies. More respondents this year than last consider that sustainability - related strategies are necessary to be competitive.
Respondents said their organizations are committing more money and attention to sustainability -and anticipate a continuing obligation in the forthcoming year. The authors suggest that these findings show that sustainability is becoming an element on the program of top management. Yet, in the short run, sustainability is usually eclipsed by other urgent business problems: Most survey respondents do not consider sustainability-related topics to be among the top three business challenges their firm faces in the next two years. The charts in this preview post signify the answers to just seven of the survey's 27 questions. The entire report will be released this winter.
