Business ethics in Russia is changing both in the nature of Russian business in general. This article compares the Russian and the American concept of business ethics with the framework of ethical and unethical practices in both countries. While Americans may consider some of the current Russian business practices to be questionable or even unethical, they may not realize that the opposite is true as well. The article also contains a number of recommendations for U.S. managers to do business with the Russian, to assist them in the interpretation of their own, as well as Russian, business behavior to develop business practices that will be ethically acceptable to both parties.
