Despite the existence of several techniques, approaches to management, as well as literature on strategy, research shows that seven out of ten organizations fail to successfully execute their strategies. However, three out of ten organizations appear to success. To find out what these organizations have done differently, the ten key elements of the successful implementation of the strategy have been identified in the literature, as well as seven business benefits that can be realized if these elements were executed efficiently. Further, 93 organizations were interviewed, and then focus group meetings with senior management. While the acquisition of formal methodologies and business cases, it is important to the successful implementation of the strategy is highly dependent on portfolio of change programs that explicitly according to the strategy of the organization. In addition, this portfolio should be supported by a group of strategic leadership and managed within a culture conducive to change.
