In 1989, the Walt Disney Company has funded major European theme park and real estate development with the use of various financial instruments and techniques that, when bundled together, amounted to finance the project. The case describes the details of the funding and invites students to access funding from different points of view, including the Walt Disney Company, the French government, the European investors and equity of European banks. As a result of a review on appeal of the project ultimately depends on the representation of the European market demand for American-style theme park. The case can be used for students' skills in the cost analysis to demonstrate the method for financing large real estate projects, as well as to study the creation and transfer of property in such projects.
