Dubai Ports Authority (DPA) wants to digitize a set of documents, it shares with its external partners, including shipping lines and agents, traders and customs authorities of the country. DPA also like to automate many of the transmission of documents related to the manifests of ships. At the material time, the global shipping industry is characterized by a low level of automation, distribution of incompatible data standards, and many independent players. All these factors complicate the digitization effort.
