Although most of the major corporations in the U.S. say they are trying to create an environment in the workplace to reflect the diversity of society (race, gender, etc.), there is a lack of available information describing the successes and failures of their efforts. This note provides the legal and statistical framework to assess (1) the federal government involved in anti-discrimination efforts, (2) the history of the spread and resolution of discrimination claims during the 1990's, and (3) statistical analysis of the U.S. population and labor force compensation levels.
