Dilemma at Devils Den Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

This case deals primarily with ethics and personal system of man and how it affects his or her perception and action. It also looks at the rewards and punishments and their effect on behavior. Susan student employee in the snack bar of the town who is torn between the desire to do what she thinks is right - to take measures to stop eating to rent premises, which were not paid for - and fear of negative consequences if it takes such action. She also wanted the students to work harder, to finish what belongs to them at night, and punished for stealing from the till. Almost all the students are faced with peer pressure to do things that violate their values. The case helps students understand why they feel so ambivalent, sometimes coming together, sometimes setting limits. Some ethical issues, others are associated with criminal behavior. These include sexual permissiveness and experimentation, drug use and dealing, fraud, trespassing and theft.
