Dairy Farm Group of Companies (DFG) is a major food retailer based in Hong Kong with branch offices in a large number of major cities in the Asia-Pacific region. Sales volumes declined from the beginning of the economic instability in Asia around June 1997. In addition, DFG face competition from European and American retailers. DFG realized that in order to remain competitive, it had to rethink its business strategy. The case looks at the initiative of DFG to the adoption of electronic retailing as a subset of e-commerce.
