Corporate Venture Capital Vignettes Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Corporate Venture Capital Vignettes Case Solution

The history of corportate venture capitalism has been a mixed one from the 60’s. Businesses appear to form venture capital plans that are independent during boom years and after that, withdraw their commitments during economic slowdowns. This case opens with a fictitious scenario: the vice president of corporate development at AllTech, Ron Flores, the world's largest business software business, is attempting to assess whether the firm should create a different corporate venture capital group to spearhead investments in young businesses. He has 48 hours in order to come with a plan to propose to the CFO of the company. To make his choice, Flores reviews several files, which make up the majority of the case, including an overview and brief history of corporate venture capital and an overview of the enterprise investing actions at Intel Corp., Microsoft Corp., and Xerox Corp.

This is just an excerpt. This case is about  INNOVATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP
