Control Data Corporation is taking into consideration its response to the murder of distinguished civil rights activist Martin Luther King.
Four months earlier, William Norris, the president of the Minneapolis-based computer business had already committed to building a plant in a low-income area of Minneapolis, but with pressure rising on companies to react to inner-city needs and amplify minority hiring, Norris urges the corporation to consider building yet an additional inner-city plant, this time in Washington, D.C.
