1. Community

A community is defined as a group of people who are situated in a particular region. It is a social group that interacts with each other living within a historical heritage, shared government, and common cultural environment. The process of working in collaboration with the groups of people that is associated with specific interests, similar situations, and geographic proximity regarding issues that are affecting the well-being of the residence is known as the engagement of the community. In the past decade, it was a local concern to develop communities and or to develop them with a specific concern. However, in the recent years, it has become necessary to align the said communities according to a purpose. The purpose firstly originated in programming of communities with regards to the issue of health. The major issues addressed in the case are related to health issues,which are obesity, smoking termination, cancer, and other health concerns. Another reason was to develop the communities in order to sustain the impressive growth of the economy. (HE)

In 1995, it was analyzed that there was a need to enlarge the community in order to resolve health issues. The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), thus, founded Committee for Engagement of Community.

There were two ways of engaging communities with each other. The way of collaboration was initiated for people who were the victims of health problems. The use of collaboration between people thus, recognized that the community historically left out the efforts for health improvements, although concern for health issues was beneficiary to people of the community. The people of communities can enhance their practices of collaboration within the communities in order to prevent the drastic issues related diseases and their harmful expansion.

Another way of forming collaboration in between people can be done generally. The community could interact with stakeholders; for instance, people in academics, policy making, and or public health sector. The advantage of this way of people and communities thus, can be advantageous when the groups prolong their efforts for specific norms and culture top, which the individuals are related to. Hence, collaboration in people and communities would be rather easy through another way as people collaborate with each other through different channels.

It was necessary for people to recognize their communities and develop them with a particular purpose. The purpose of collaboration can be obtained when the people themselves become socially active. Participation of communities with each other is a historical phenomenon, but their interaction for intention of growth in the community development has been raised simultaneously along with the growth of community economic development.

Complexity and scale of the interaction have led towards the importance of developing communities that grow with modernization of the world. Communities and their participations are now the key elements of nations. This factor has a significant impact on the rise or fall of the economies. (Sheppard, 2010)

1.1. Community Development

Community development, if discussed properly, can bring hope regarding escape, animate individuals, and encourage them among groups. This elaborates how the lives of the groups and individuals can improve through adequate socialization and explains the importance of community development over the developed economies as only developed communities have the tendency to make countries as developed economies. It is beneficial for individuals in which they should partake in foundation of communities. With the development of communities, whether it is cultural or religious, a community’s development benefits everyone in the community. This is because an individual cannot raise his/her voice until he/she is empowered as a result of his/her affiliation with a strong community. Historically, either religious or cultural support from communities has helped humanity in moving towards a better life through uniting communities.
