Coca-Cola FEMSAs Contribution to Peace Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

In 2003, the company FEMSA-Mexican company acquired 100% of the largest Coca-Cola franchise systems in Latin America (PANAMCO), and put itself on the wire sales of carbonated beverages and soft drinks in various countries of South America, including Colombia, which fought with the armed groups since 1970. This case, like Coca-Cola FEMSA includes various initiatives in sustainable development strategies to support the peaceful demobilization, which will be implemented Alta Consejeria para la Reintegracion (ACR, High-Council for Reintegration) of the Government of Colombia. In the process of disarmament, ACR has demobilized (ex-combatants who have decided to lay down arms and surrender peacefully to the authorities), various types of social reintegration, such as financing for starting a new business and relationships with companies that can provide jobs, among other things, also shared with the business community to see how it can help support this process. As of August 2011, Coca-Cola FEMSA is already working with the Government of Colombia for a little over three years, and in order to diversify its initiatives to support not only to ex-combatants and soldiers, victims and the general public affected by the conflict .
