In the sports arena, both in the workplace, leaders can reduce counterproductive behavior by building organizational commitment and the idea of justice. Traditionally, labor productivity was measured in terms of specific tasks related statements and behavior: personal employee to perform a list of tasks outlined in the job description? Current approaches to draw attention to a much wider range of behavior, which, if present, can add value to the organization, helping it to achieve its goals and contribute to the social and psychological environment. Examined data on the performance of the NBA and the NHL, the author comes to the conclusion that managers can increase organizational citizenship behavior and decrease counterproductive behavior by focusing on creating employee satisfaction, organizational commitment, perceptions of fairness and trust in management, which create an environment that encourages altruistic actions.
