As the breadth and depth of the impact of information technology (IT) firm grew, it was a corresponding increase in the rank of senior IT executive. Recent data, however, shows that this trend may reverse itself. This paper reports the views of IT managers and senior IT managers. Managers believe that IT managers need to develop a "big picture" perspective, enhance their interpersonal skills, raising awareness about the value of IT, a visual relationship, and to identify with the role of "change agent."
