To survive in the ultra-competitive business environment, organizations need to better understand the factors that cause managers to fail to achieve the desired results. In this regard, the focus group data was collected from 1,040 managers from more than 100 different U.S. manufacturing and service organizations have a large scale organizational change in order to help identify the root causes of managerial failure. Discussion at the 15 major causes of failure of management identified in the study, along with their perceived impact of management and organizational performance.
