Patrick Dickinson (HBS '09) and also Michael Weiner (MIT's Sloan '07) got Castronics, a business that specialized in threading conduit used in the oil and natural gas sector, in the end of 2009.
The associates cured hurdles that were major during the first two years of ownership, which contained the endangered entry of a formidable competitor into their market, the loss of almost half of their work force, and limited production capacity. In spite of these challenges and a number of other day-to-day barriers, by the summertime of 2011, the business successfully tripled generation and EBITDA and the associates were determining whether or not to sell the firm.
