Capitalization: The Politics of Privatization in Bolivia Case Solution
In this scenario, the president of Bolivia and a team of officials grapple with questions of the way to set up a model for privatizing several state-owned enterprises. In the 1980s, Bolivia, like other Latin American states, accepted a market based strategy which required the state to focus more on the essential tasks of government and to intervene less in the economy.
In the case, privatization is high on the leadership's policy plan for most of the part as it was a not finished company of the neo-liberal economic reform plan that was first adopted in 1985. Additionally, the president has several specific aims he wishes to reach through the process of privatization, like removing a large source of public sector corruption and reacting to issues of poverty and inequity in the country.
