This case is an IT-dependent Canada's health system, using three real vignettes: the unconscious patient ambulance that electronic health records (EHR) may have saved his life, the patient, whose health problems and a comprehensive plan for the drug effectively and holistically manage the use of pharmacists general system information, and a bone marrow transplant patient who was able to stay in their remote communities, and preserve the quality of life through Telehealth videoconferencing system. Discussion questions invite students to consider how it plays an important role in public health, the nature of "deep integration", and why it takes so much time and money on the development of efficient technologies for complex systems, such as health care.
