Compared with the West, human resources in Eastern Europe are immature. Countries to pay more attention to the staff than the integration of human resources (HR) with corporate strategy. Few companies have a well-developed system of selection, there is still some resistance to pay based on the results, the majority of training in on-the-job variety, job commitments remains low, and East Europeans attach great importance to social benefits. This article offers three main recommendations for the leaders of business in Eastern Europe: focus external rather than internal rewards, confidence-building, using local managers to handle HR systems that employees will accept as fair, and most importantly, be patient. Changes in HR practices evolve slowly, but Western managers must recognize that culture and adapt its practices if they want to attract, motivate and retain highly qualified employees. "Hide
