This case addressed the issue of the crisis of leadership in the multinational enterprises in a powerful way to help students learn the most important tasks of the multinational companies in emerging markets. In August 2007, the procedure of the feedback process and product defect analysis identified a defective batch batteries supplied by Japanese manufacturers, Matsushita. India was the largest recipient of the defective batch. Instructions have been posted on the Internet for customers to diagnose the faulty battery and get a free replacement.
