Considering the flexibility of the suppliers of BAL with changing the current procurement process, the implementation of the E-Procurement system due to the opportunities provided by e-business technology are considered submissive with the standards of ADF. Thus, the organization is primarily provided with three alternative approaches i.e. implementation of a sophisticated e-Procurement system integrating all the legacy system parts of the BAL in place. This will significantly provide the organization with average spending related to the purchase but will result in long-term cost saving. It mainlysupported by the less resistance of employees to the change in the procurement system. (Rahim, 2013 )A second alternative approach involves the upgrading and redevelopment of the existing platform of ERP and building new ERP system (e-Procurement system) to fulfil the needs of end-users and suppliers. It is primarily known to provide transparency and visibility of all the steps of the procurement process. (Becker, 2018)The third alternative involves the continued use oftheexisting system.
From all the three alternatives, alternative 1 is recommended for implementation. Additionally, the organization is required to conduct a gap analysis to determine the needs for the implementation of the e-Procurement system throughout the organization andidentify thefunctional, technical, and mandatory needs.
