BCE Inc (BCE), one of the leading telecommunications companies in Canada, fought under his weak performance of share prices and low valuations relative to their peers in comparable, and faced increasing pressure from its largest shareholder 'Pension Plan (Teachers Teachers powerful Ontario). March 29, 2007 it was reported that private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis & Roberts (KKR) held an informal meeting with the leaders of our era, in the hope of launching a friendly takeover bid of the company. This essentially put BC "in the game" with the management team, confirming April 17, 2007, that it will be reviewing its strategic alternatives, which included discussions with various Canadian-led consortium to explore the possibility of privatization. As the deadline for bid date approached, the four competing consortiums bidding emerged, including three of the consortium of financial buyers and a strategic buyer.
