Q4. Create a histogram using the following purchase order data:
What is the shape of the variation in the histogram? Where is the variation centered? How spread out is the variation? Are there any outliers in the data?
Assignment Solution Case Solution
Answer
• The shape of the variation in the histogram shown above is that the shape is in a complete bell shaped curve which means that the data is normal; hence less variation occurs in the data. Similarly the histogram can said to be normal.
• Secondly, from the range 1000 to 1200 the variation is centered which means that the data is similar between these ranges. Moreover the frequency for this centered variation is 4, which means that the variation can said to be centered at this point.
• The variation is limitedly spread out because the bars are firstly increasing and then coming to a decrease which means that the data is not quite spread out.
• There are no outliers in the data as the curve is said to be normal. Outliers prevail in those histograms where the curve is up and down but here the curve is in a complete bell shaped curve, hence it can be said that there are no outliers or if there are any they are in a very small amount which can be omitted.....................
