Trading Advantage Food and Beverage is a decision based on the case, identifies four options for the owner and president of food and beverage Advantage (AF & B) operations snack shop. He ran the business for 16 years and had a vast knowledge of the company and the trade industry. His dilemma was whether or not to invest in its existing operations, and if so, to determine the best use of its resources. Trade industry was stagnant and is reduced, which makes his decision. However, new technologies have become available, which could improve the competitive advantages of AF & B in the market. Technology options included a system that (a) to accept electronic payments, and (b) tracked inventory and operations. Payment options come in the form of a traditional credit card reader or a new form of Touch-and-go card readers. These functions can be retrofitted to existing machines or come built into new machines.
