Based on their research on information-sharing processes at 20 transnational firms from a wide selection of sectors, the authors describe some of the hidden obstacles to initiation. These fall under three headings, they argue: utilizing marketplace information; and being aware about what is happening in the market; comprehending the marketplace. Meanwhile, they propose some practical ideas for managers to experiment creativity.
