This paper identifies the main opportunities and inhibitors in achieving business Information Technology (IT) alignment. Alignment includes activities that manages to achieve a cohesive whole IT and functional (eg, finance, marketing, production) company. Thus, the address alignment and how it is in harmony with the business, and how business could or should be in harmony with it. IT requires strong support from senior management, good working relationships, strong leadership, appropriate prioritization, trust, and effective communication, as well as a deep understanding of the business environment.
