A123 Systems, the biggest maker of lithium ion batteries in North America, is making and selling batteries for electric vehicles in China and electric buses in Europe and America.
It merely opened two plants in Michigan, partly financed by a grant from America's stimulation fund. At exactly the same time, the company is expanding its business in big, grid stabilization systems, in Chile, California and New York.
