It then describes and evaluates four related exercises: advising, counseling, coaching, and mentoring. The note then narrates basic steps or stages in the process of advising; every step is analyzed from both advice-finders and advice-providers view. At the end, it provides the suggestions to work on, outlines various pitfalls to avoid while finding, obtaining, and providing advice along with a few effective practices and directions to follow.
