Non-profit organization founded in 1990, Innermotion was a dance company that presents performances on topics related to incest and childhood sexual abuse, as well as therapeutic workshops for victims of such abuse. It consisted of all the volunteers, the troupe of victims of childhood sexual abuse, and his lone full-time, the founder and artistic director Sharon Daugherty. Innermotion relied primarily on state and federal funding sources, is designed to provide support services to victims of crime and domestic violence. Precipitated the loss of a large grant and participate in the executive program for the strategy, Dougherty felt pressure to reconsider its focus and priorities.
