Despite the increased concern about security, most public, private and government information systems are vulnerable to terrorist and hacker attacks. To test this potentially catastrophic problem, the authors examine the other notoriously expensive failure in information systems: the year 2000 (Y2K) problem. They argue that many of the same drivers Y2K problem now hinder the security of information systems and the definition of groupthink as a cause of continuing disability organizations (information systems) team to learn from past mistakes in the management of information systems.
