In the post-9/11 era of information technology, preparedness and emergency response took on increased importance. Public health organizations, as ADHD are important in any state emergency preparedness large scale. With issues such as bio-terrorism surveillance added to the list of critical for the health of the population there is an urgent need to involve the IT infrastructure to meet new challenges. Historically lean funding cycles for public health did not allow basic information technology by expanding reach. An infusion of $ 9.3 million CDC allowed ADHS expand its outreach through the creative use of information technology. As a first step, ADHS initiated the development and implementation of MEDSIS. This project is the cause of public health in Arizona to review their workflow and business processes, as they work together with other countries to ensure public health effectively. "Hide
