On July 24, 2013, the administration of Ambuja Cements Limited revealed the combination of Holcim (India) Private Limited with Ambuja Cements in a two-stage procedure. Ambuja Cements would purchase a 24 per cent risk of Holcim (India) from Holderind Investments Ltd. of Mauritius for 35 billion. Consequently, Holcim (India) would be combined with Ambuja Cements. The management of Ambuja Cements forecasted substantial synergy from the merger, whereas proxy company consultants called it business misgovernance.
