Normative Foundations of Business Case Solution
What isthe appropriate role for business to play in a capitalist society? This note recognizes two separate dimensions in examining responses to this question. The first case involves the identifying objective of business as a societal association, considers the benefits and drawbacks of profit maximization in addition to alternatives to profit maximization including putting the worker or the customer stakeholder theory, first, and the corporation as a public service thing. It then considers another measurement, the proper moral constraints on the pursuit of its objectives of company.
On this dimension, the note considers minimal tactical conformity, libertarian constructions against force or fraud, the law, societal norms, and independent standards of ethical behavior.
