In 2006, Citect Corporation, a publicly traded Australian software company, was the subject of a battle between the absorption of financial sponsor and strategic buyer. Thoma Bravo, an American private equity firm, was to decide on the acquisition strategy in competition with Schneider Electric, a large French multinational.
