Human Resource Management in Multinational Banks in Tanzania Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

The case examines how the best practices of two banks were arranged and managed to supply financial services to a small market of foreign customers in the mining, tourism and construction sectors in Tanzania. Both banks asserted to be similar in many ways. They both were from countries whose economies were run widely on neoliberal lines, in that there was little state intervention in either economy, nevertheless, differences existed with respect to how they managed their operations.

The case is ideally suited to illustrate the ongoing tension and different types of best practices in cross-marketplace integration. It provides opportunities to explore the development of the banking sector, the challenges faced by multinational company banks in handling international work forces, and the influence of technology in shaping work in organizations.
