Delivering Innovation in Hospital Construction: Contracts and Collaboration in the UK’s Private Finance Initiative Hospitals Program Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

This post discusses the relationship between the system for planning, funding, constructing, and operating new hospitals and the building and design initiation. It concentrates on the UK's Private Finance Initiative (PFI), where consortia of private companies invest in, construct, and operate public sector hospital facilities. The PFI was partially introduced to inject increased initiation into the delivery of health care communications.

Case studies of eight schemes urbanized over the previous decade show the PFI version has not created the anticipated initiation advantages. These represent structural characteristics of PFI that could be improved upon in order to generate better outcomes.
