Healthcare, the largest industry in the United States is in crisis, and threatens to bankrupt the country's economy. Medical errors kill about 98,000 people a year, and access to adequate health is a growing problem for the majority of citizens. Despite the fact that one of the most important keys to solving this crisis, the National Electronic Health Network (e-health) is underestimated and under-exploited, and faces a number of formidable barriers to implementation. Current and future political leadership of the country was focused exclusively on the number of questions, in the hope that the crisis can not be solved holistically because of political interests. However, the barriers that significantly impede the potential of e-health to help solve the crisis can only be removed in a timely manner of a comprehensive, national structure, which changes the legal, operational and economic landscape in the field of e-health. Only greater public awareness that encourages national legislative measures can increase the potential of e-health to improve the quality and accessibility of health care while reducing its cost.
