This case describes the creation of Juno Beach Centre in France, where the Canadian troops hit the beach at Normandy on D-Day. The center honors and explains the role of Canada in the Second World War. It also has a section devoted to contemporary Canadian culture and society. Canadian D-Day veterans, with the help of the next generation, formed Juno Beach Centre Association (JBCA) in 1990 to raise funds for the museum, which would highlight the country's contribution to the Allied victory of World War II. Many donations from individuals will not be enough. Canadian governments and corporations have expressed their support and good will, but not yet to make significant financial commitments. "Hide
