The actions of its supervisor and also the Darden School mailroom are analyzed using waste identification tools and process mapping. The note illustrates how one can discover and assess a process for which opportunities to make process maps, value waste and preservation potential, and create stakeholder buy-in for developments are identified.
Lean tools discussed include seven waste analyses, SIPOC, process flowcharts, and stakeholder participation. Pupils who undertake their own procedure mapping projects should complete a report similar to what was created for the Darden School mailroom.
