The necessities essential to attain a more humanist approach to the "human resource" are set forth, as are the systems of people and ethnic aspects most applicable in the context of operations management. The aim is mutual enrichment for operations management and people management teams. Operations managers will extend their vision of organizations as communities of individuals, whereas people managers feel will better comprehend the relevance of production systems in how individuals think and behave.
