Public Architecture is a nonprofit architecture company involved in the creation of social and professional change through design for the public good. The public has been focused on three strategies to create change: 1) to promote commitment to the design community volunteer work, 2) the action by creating an inspiring design with a social mission, and 3) the dissemination of knowledge created by the design of the socially significant profession. As a central actor and the changes in the profession, public architecture created 1% of the program, a national network of architecture and design firms, which pledged to donate 1% of their billable hours for the benefit of society. However, the organization is struggling to keep and 1% in the program and their own initiatives integrated design and reinforce each other to create a social and professional changes. If the public is divided into two organizations? Will support the various elements in the public architecture together to make the entire organization of the lowest common denominator, and will provide them with a flexible platform for creating social change? These issues are important to the growth strategy of public, financing and resource allocation decisions.
