This note explores the current state of venture philanthropy in the U.S. and its future. Structured on interviews with approximately 28 practitioners in the field of kindness and an assessment of the literature ever since the magazine of the article initiate the awareness of venture humanity (Virtuous Capital: What Foundations Can be taught from the Venture Capitalists) sixteen years previously, the note demonstrate the notable impact venture philanthropy has had on nonprofit sector despite the consequences of its tiny size comparative to total philanthropic giving.
Venture philanthropists make large, multi-year, unrestricted grants coupled with significant non- monetary capacity building support and extensive performance measurement together with the goal of raising a nonprofit ability to serve more people more efficiently. This note discusses the full set of enterprise philanthropy practices and their impact on grantees. Additionally, it examine what could possibly be done to increase this kind of results-driven philanthropy in the U.S. and presents questions regarding the future trajectory of the field, including venture philanthropy's role in driving societal-level scaling of impact.
