A managing editor is attempting to navigate a communications and direction catastrophe after receiving an email from among her colleagues at Tehelka Magazine (Tehelka), alleging that she had been sexually assaulted by the founder/proprietor/editor in chief of the magazine. Although the managing editor had felt that she was rightly handling the situation through her contact with the perpetrator, the victim and other Tehelka staff, the disaster deteriorated when those communications was inappropriately leaked and disclosed to the media and the general public.

Moreover, the victim resigned, asserting the managing editor, a renowned advocate of women rights, had been exceedingly tolerant and implyingdismissive behavior concerning the criticism. When both the victim's resignation e-mail as well as the editor's approval of that e-mail were also leaked to the media, it generated a fresh round of controversy and disagreement on the way Tehelka had handled the whole issue and pushed the managing editor to announce her decision to step down from her position with Tehelka as well.
