Homelessness in Harvard Square: Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration in Action Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

This case describes that how the various different local stakeholders, including city agencies, Harvard Square businesses, churches, the Cambridge Police Department, and non-profit service providers, integrated to comprehend and tackle the intense flow of “travelers”. This case is set in the year 2012-2013 at Harvard Square. In a travelling manner, these young homeless people travel city to city, and Harvard Squar has become the suitable place on the travelers’ circuit.

However, the stakeholders had already set an effective course of actions in order to help the homeless population on Cambridge streets, but the local stakeholder found the challenge from these travelers’ aggressive behavior and drug use. These threats and risks needed the collaboration and collective efforts to eradicate it. This case provides a description of efforts by stakeholders, the broader context in which collaboration and collective efforts are needed to put in place, and the various interests at stake.
