By carrying this research or case analysis I came to know that a country’s economy is not dependent on a single factor and a single industry cannot be utilized to generate or formulate GDP for the longer period. Saudi Arabia, which is highly dependent on its petroleum industry and has finally come to realize that it cannot depend on this particular industry anymore. The issue was quite alarming as Saudi is not the only country that is dependent on its petroleum industry, other countries of the Middle East are widely dependent on this industry and can face the need for foreign direct investment in the near future.

From the case analysis, it becomes quite evident that countries are in search of foreign investment and every country, especially the developing nations must develop plans to attract foreign investors. It might pose a threat to the local market, but it will bring competition, which will help the local manufacturers to strive for quality as well. Foreign direct investment is vital in the creation of the private sector in any country, creating more job opportunities and help a great deal in the formulation of the GDP.

Another major aspect that was covered was the importance of labor market in any country. Labor plays an important role in attracting foreign investors. Skillful labor is the key to success of the private sector in any country. The issue that Saudi Arabia is facing, and that is also a concern for other middle Eastern countries, especially U.A.E is the absence of technically skilled labor and the dependence of the foreign labor. From the case I came to understand the fact that technically skilled labor is important and if that is not present, unemployment is an issue that will arise in that country sooner or later.

The key points that were added to my knowledge through the case analysis included the importance of technical education, the growing need of foreign investment in the developing countries and the importance of projects like SAGIA for such countries. The project SAGIA is the guideline for other developing countries, and they can use the concept and the blueprint to formulate the similar kind of projects in order to give a boost to their economy. One other major area of knowledge or factor that was understood was the growing efforts of countries to become competitive which is important in today’s competitive world.

In carrying out this research or case analysis, I utilized many skills that I learnt from my MBA program. Case analysis requires the basic knowledge about business models and concepts, and the ability to utilize information. In solving a case, the first skill that is important and was utilized by me was to identify the root cause of the problem which was faced by the organization. Problem identification is the first step that leads towards problem solving. Skills that are essential for an MBA while conducting a research includes problem solving along with the analytical skills that help in analyzing the situation and data in a research project. These skills were utilized completely during this project as well. Besides these skills, one major portion of my strategic thinking abilities along with planning is being tested in such projects. This ability was utilized while providing the alternative solutions to SAGIA and then the recommendations were provided. Data collection and efficient usage ofdata is vital because it helps in performing the quantitative analysis which was not really utilized in this project. The data gathering techniques and the source of secondary and primary data test your searching skill as data needs to be relevant only then it is utilized completely and the chances of perfection increases.

The MBA program helps in various forms and develops many skills, many of which are mentioned above that helped me a great deal in analyzing this case. The case was not an easy task as the nature of the organization was very different and it was a challenge to apply the selected models with perfection. Using the ability to research and gathering data,mostly secondary data and recognizing the key factors were needed to be addressed helped in completing this project successfully.

Research is of immense importance in an MBA program as it helps students to develop many skills that they cannot learn through books and other material. Research helps students to identify a problem, gather data and critically analyzes that data and on the basis of the analysis proposed results and solutions. This technique develops the thinking ability of students and help them to solve critical issues that will help them in the future corporate world. By conducting this analysis I have gained sufficient knowledge to develop and polish these skills and to improve my analytical ability using the different business analysis models....................................
