This case is comprised of the history of Chez Panisse and Alice Waters. Waters succeeded to build first a local and then global ecosystem, during the Chez Panisse’s history, by utilizing an “open innovation” strategy with integration of alumni chef and staff, food writers, suppliers, and other stakeholders. This case tracks the path of Chez Panisse growth by using an open innovation framework.
This successful business ecosystem shares knowledge, develops one’s potential, and integrate the trust among participants. This study examines that how the small firm endeavored to mark the success.
