Rhone-Poulenc, France's largest chemical companies, has achieved a leading position in the United States as a result of an ambitious series of acquisitions. With the expansion in the United States from 1986 to 1990, Rhone-Poulenc sought to take control of "hands off" approach and allowed the local government to create a consistent and stable American operation.
