Set in September 1992, this exercise gives students the opportunity to team to negotiate a merger of AT & T and McCaw Cellular. AT & T, one of the largest U.S. corporations, was a dominant competitor in the long-distance telephone service in the United States. McCaw was the largest competitor in the rapidly growing cellular communications industry. Prior to the talks, AT & T had no position in cellular communications.
