Just retired CEO of Cummins Engine, Henry Schacht unexpectedly tapped Bob Allen, CEO and chairman of AT & T, to become CEO of the soon-to-be-spun off Lucent Technologies. Lucent, consisting of former Bell Labs and Western Electric units of AT & T, increases by 1% to 16% annual growth of the market.
